Winter in Construction: A Time of Waiting and Preparation

Winter is traditionally one of the quieter periods in the construction industry. Temperatures in January often fall below zero, which naturally slows down construction activities. Concrete work cannot be carried out in freezing conditions, and many projects are therefore temporarily postponed until weather conditions improve.

This situation affects not only construction sites themselves but also the entire supply chain. Our customers are currently often waiting for the start of the season, when temperatures rise above freezing and concrete work becomes possible again.

At FERT, the production of steel spacers and reinforcements continues throughout the winter months, although at a lower volume than during the peak season. We use the winter period for preparation, planning, and process optimization so that we are ready to respond once the construction industry resumes full operations.

For us, winter is therefore a time of preparation and patient waiting – together with our customers.
